I am
a lifelong resident of Southern Indiana and a graduate of Mater Dei
High School. While holding a full time night shift job, I earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Studies from USI (ISUE) in
1974. I received my Master’s Degree in History from Indiana State
University in 1978. My daughter, Mackenzie, graduated with honors
from IU’s Kelley School of Business in 2009 and is currently employed
in Indianapolis. My son, Zachary, is a junior at Georgetown College
in Kentucky. We love our community and are proud to call Southern
Indiana our home. I thoroughly enjoy, as I have for many years,
teaching government and history at Mater Dei High School. I have
served as Social Studies Department Chairman for 17 years. I have
also been fortunate to coach state championship teams in the sports
of football and wrestling. I was first elected to Vanderburgh County
Council in 2004. Serving as a councilman has been a challenging and
fulfilling experience which has given me the necessary insight to
seek election to our General Assembly.
